Pregnancy

No, not an illness. Definitely not. Nonetheless a condition involving many symptoms and complaints.
The female body changes completely within ten months.
It’s not plain sailing for every woman. And it can be hard to keep training as normal.

What is it?

The hormone level is the first thing to change during pregnancy. Just after conception. The hormonal balance, usually in perfect harmony, fluctuates wildly during the first three months. Body and mood face a major challenge.

Having come through the worst, the woman may have some peace for a bit, or she may find herself with thick legs, a sore back, heartburn, poor sleep...

She may also suffer from all sorts of anxieties about the near and long-term future.

In a nutshell: no two women are the same. No two pregnancies are the same.

What’s important at this stage?

When you're pregnant, everyone has some advice for you. Everyone always knows best and is ready to share their wisdom, it’s always the same. - OK, seriously now :-)

There is an unbelievable wealth of knowledge about pregnancy, but unfortunately there is even more pseudoknowledge and a lot of well meant advice to go with it. So, make sure to listen to yourself first. And then to your doctor or midwife. Period.

Sport during pregnancy is great. And it is strongly recommended. It mitigates mood swings, helps overcome tiredness, reduces water retention and strengthens you for the birth.

However, it’s only advisable if you feel good while doing it. And if the doctor is OK with it.

Get out in the fresh air as much as you can. The best is to combine endurance training with strength training for your legs. Or you can stick with your usual training programme for as long as possible.

Where does Sensopro come in?

The gentle Sensopro movements allow you to keep training from the beginning to the end of your pregnancy. It offers all the exercises you need for a comprehensive training programme. Work on your core in combination with arm movements, leg strength, balance and you're guaranteed to work up a sweat. The bouncing movements strengthen your pelvic floor during the initial phase. Towards the end you should switch to exercises done standing up.

All that’s missing is the fresh air.
